Pelvic health (floor) physical therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that support the pelvic organs, including the bladder, uterus, and rectum. This type of therapy is often used to treat conditions such as pelvic pain, urinary or fecal incontinence, and sexual dysfunction. Pelvic floor physical therapy can be an effective treatment for many pelvic floor disorders and can significantly improve quality of life for those who are struggling with these conditions especially during pregnancy and postpartum.
We give you your intake forms ahead of our appointment and in our first session we will review and discuss your medical history, learn more about your concerns and limitations, and discuss all aspects of your life and how they can be affecting your symptoms/concern. Then we will perform a thorough assessment including checking your posture, strength and overall mobility. We will also perform a hands on assessment which may include a core assessment, internal or external pelvic floor examination, and treatment of any symptom-related responses. Then we will give you self release techniques you can do to aid in pain/symptom relief and a custom home exercise program through our app, Everfit, so you can have access to videos, pictures, and descriptions of the exercises.

We offer labor and delivery prep for both the birthing partner and non-birthing partner. We believe that the non-birthing partner can take an active role in your labor and delivery. We provide in-person or virtual offerings to prepare your body physically and mentally for the demands of childbirth. Starting with exercises you can do to prepare your body, to partner stretches and positions to help you feel more relaxed during labor, and education and resources for you and your partner so you can feel confident in your decision making during labor and delivery and in your early recovery. Pacer PT is out of network with most insurances. It is as cost-effective as paying a copay or deductible. Out-of-network services remove the limitations that may be issued by insurance companies on the amount of visits you have available before you are no longer eligible to continue. We can also see you for a full 60-minute session and treat multiple areas of your body, without insurance limitations. We take the middleman out of patient care! We verify your out-of-network benefits before you start with us so you know exactly what to expect. Email: admin@pacerphysicaltherapy.com if you have questions about your benefits.

No, you do not. Massachusetts is an unrestricted Direct Access state for physical therapy, meaning patients are allowed to seek care and treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a referral or prescription from their doctor. However, if you plan to seek reimbursement from your insurance, some do require pre-authorization or a physician’s referral.

Absolutely! Our therapists are pelvic health and orthopedic specialists and have a variety of expertise. We work with those who have pelvic floor concerns or anyone else who is interested in optimizing their health. We support those who are interested in staying active, but who are also working through symptoms.

Telehealth utilizes technology to connect patients and practitioners to make more convenient, accessible, and efficient platform to educate and workout in the comfort of your own home. Why should you have to drive to another Doctor’s office when you can work out and receive the 1-on-1 services you want in your home with limited equipment necessary to see results?
At this time to obtain Physical Therapy services you must be physically located in New York and Massachusetts, but please inquire to learn more. If you are obtaining virtual fitness services you may reside anywhere in the United States. Inquire below if you have any questions.

We do not have dedicated parking at our location in Back Bay, but there are multiple parking garages that are easily accessible including the Dartmouth street garage, Newbury Street garage, and the Copley Garage. We also have metered street parking on Boylston street, right outside our office and on Newbury Street. We also recommend taking the green line to the Copley stop!
